This is Tommy fourteen and a half Border Terrier 10Kg. He had been flagging on walks and so I bought him a doggy backpack. The pic is of his first outing along the River Tweed near Paxton House in the Scottish Borders. He went straight in with no protest and really enjoyed not having to walk back up the hill. The quality of the product is excellent and is worth every penny.

We bought the sac primarily for bike rides. The bag fits our mini dachshund securely so there’s no way of him wriggling his way out and lunging at squirrels. The k9 website gives great instructions how to clip the dog in. I guess it’s up to the character of the dog if they will crawl into the bag in the first place. Ours likes bags. On the shoulders the sac felt comfortable with a 5.5kg dog in it. The chest strap ensures that the sac doesn’t move side to side whilst pedalling. It’s great quality and the dirt washed off easily after our muddy adventure. If you are using this for walking I would recommend the one with the hip strap to give more back support. On the bike this would get in the way.

Pretty easy getting my dog into the bag, can be annoying when she pulls her front paws out the holes!
We've used it a few times now and she seems to like it, peeking over your shoulders. Not sure if good for her knees if was used for long periods of time, so we just do 15 minutes then a walk or rest or play.
Well made and I like the safety tag inside to fasten to the harness. She is secured in well with the body straps too.

Great product. We used it a lot on our holiday with our ageing border terrier. She enjoyed a mixture of walking and being carried. All members of the family were able to carry her in it. We practiced at home beforehand, so our dog was used to it.

I got this as my dog is getting old but so far, he chooses not to go in BUT he has the option so that gives me peace of mind. My advice would be to contact them with measurements as I had to return the first one. Returns advice was top class so when he needs it, it's there

So far, only used it once. Once I had amended the straps, which brought Bonnie right up to my neck, I found it very comfortable (as did Bonnie). It was very easy to put her in, although it needed two of us to put her on each other’s back but once there she was more than happy (see photo with a friend!). She can’t quite get both front legs either side of my shoulders but that’s mainly because of her current condition/surgery weakness and not a design default. Looking forward to trying it again soon!

My 11 month old shitzu puppy is not a fan of long walks, he burns himself out too quickly and then we have to carry him. This backpack has made carrying him so much easier and he absolutely loves it. It is really easy to get him inside and zip it up. I have managed to get him on my back by myself but it is easier with two people. Well worth buying, we all love it!

Fantastic service - I was worried I’d left it to the last minute to order before a trip to Scotland but it came that morning! We were so excited to try it out as our little pup recently had cruciate surgery and has been missing out on longer walks.
Ordered a medium due to Kimi’s very long body and very short legs (unknown mix - corgi/standard daschund shape and size). It’s a little bit big so needs a booster inside but I don’t think the small would have been enough.
Glad I chose the Air 2 - the sternum strap really helps keep the dog close and wriggle free, meaning I could carry him (8-9kg) comfortably for ages (tested an hour so far).
After a few tests with help, I found it really easy to get Kimi into the rucksack on my own in the back of my tiny car! Two hands definitely helped getting him out mid walk on a soggy day though.
He did pull his front paws inside (think t-Rex arms) so we do need to work out the booster but he seemed happy regardless. Can’t wait to test it out cycling too!

Bought from a recommendation from a girl I follow on Instagram! It’s great backpack although wish I had gone for the one with the straps at front. Ralphy fitted perfectly but wasn’t overly keen. Hoping he will get used to it as it’s fab for hiking and being able to go longer hikes when he’s still young. Fast delivery and loved the wee note too. Quality of the material is excellent too. Can’t wait for more adventures.

I have a 4 month old French Bulldog who is really sensitive to the cold and gets tired very quickly. I had planned to use the rucksack for long walks around the coast to keep my frenchie warm by the sea and for rainy days to avoid him catching a cold.
I've used it with the dog on my back and also on my front so that he can see me. I am so happy I bought the K9 rucksack. I bought the booster pillow which means that as he grows I can remove it and use it for longer. I definitely recommend the padded insert which is great for keeping your dog dry and warm.

This bag came in very handy when Merlin had tired legs in Cornwall. It is lightweight but sturdy and long enough for his long dachshund body. I did recommend it to someone at Lands End that asked us about it. Its very secure so you don't have to worry about your dog falling out either!

My dog has recently had cruciate ligament surgery on her leg, so this backpack has been amazing in keeping her active but allowing her to rest in the backpack and not overdo it. It's been life-changing!

Although the idea of this backpack is good, it was made with a minimum effort. No comfortable seat for the dog, no frame, cheap looking material. My dog (5,5kgs) fits well in it, but she becomes very uncomfortable after 15 mins. Normally she enjoys being carried around, but in this case she does not. It may be useful for short walks, but I was hoping for something that would allow me to take my dog for longer hikes. Would I recommend it? No.
Side note: I ordered the backpack to Austria and had to pay 25EUR duties on top of the already inflated price, what makes the purchase even worse.

Great quality product and excellent personalised customer service. I bought this for cycling so it needs to be very secure and my dog is happy and enjoying the experience. Also provides good entertainment to random pedestrians. I was slightly unsure on sizing as she is between 2 sizes - went for the larger one which was the right choice as straps still fasten securely and there will be room for an extra blanket in colder weather.

Backpack is good but I already feel our 11 week old labradoodle heavy - sore shoulders after 20 minutes. I wish there was a waist strap as well as sternum strap - think that would help to spread the weight as would happen with a normal rucksack.

Enzo our lab has been able to come on long walks and bike rides with us even though he’s not yet big enough for the long distance.
We bought the L and packed it full of towels to boost him up but slowly we are taking the padding out as he grows.
It’s really a brilliant concept to make sure your pup doesn’t miss out on all the fun things.
Really easy to get him in and out and well built for comfort - for Enzo and us.
Love it and always get compliments when we are out saying how great the bag is. The tropical design is great too!

We bought it for our climb up snowdon, Wilfred managed to climb most of the way but needed help for the last ascent, it was really easy to get him in and lovely and secure, he absolutely loved being In there and it was very comfy to carry. The K9 sports sack I bought for my old dog looks just perfect. Very well made and I think my dog would have fit in in perfectly.
Unfortunately the package got stuck in the delivery company after I paid for import duties (right away after I received the email) and it was delayed for over a week.
The morning before it was delivered my sweet old dog passed away. So I was not able to test it :’(

Great Backpack for my blind 14yar old Jack Russell however i feel a few tweaks could be made. I found that his knees/legs were digging into my back so some kind of foam between us would be beneficial. I also felt that it needed another strap to go across my stomach as i felt that all his weight (10kg) is being supported by my shoulders. Other than that its a good back pack and worth the money and Ollie loves it.....

Bought this backpack because I have a sausage dog with serious sass! As much as he loves going out to explore and have adventures, when he’s had enough, he’s had enough and refuses then to walk or move. I often end up carrying him the rest of the way.
Off we went with the backpack ready to St Abbs in Scotland for a walk, bless my little sausage dog for attempting it. But after about 2k he sat down and that was that. The back pack was a life saver for me, making it so much easier to carry him up the steep parts. It’s was super comfy and fun and lots of people stopped to admire the cute sausage dog resting his head on my shoulder.
Now I know for sure, I will never have to do a hill climb or a long walk without my furbaby!

I found Travfurler.com when looking on the web for a rucksack to carry my dog in when she gets tired. There are a few doggy rucksacks on the market but you definitely get what you pay for. I bought a k9 sport sack air 2 in medium for my 10kg 12yr old cocker spaniel. The website was really clear, simple to use (including how to measure your dog) the communication once ordered and speed of delivery were all excellent. Our dog likes to be picked up & carried so we hoped she would like the rucksack & she did! We introduced her to it gradually & let her walk for a while before putting her into it, as you can see, she was very happy & comfortable. Recently we were able to walk some tricky coastal paths that she would have struggled with & reward her with a play on the beach & paddle in the sea. We can't wait for the next adventure with her.

The backpack is perfect for my little chi (and me!). The given size is correct (XS for chi). I feel comfortable and safe carrying her both in front and back. She loves being carried around during our holiday in Scotland, including some hikes in Isle of Skye. It took me a while to find the suitable backpack for dogs and I made the right choice on this one. It is easily folded into my backpack and I use it whenever needed during hiking. Highly recommended.

He doesn't spend all his time in this on walks but when we have went for long hikes it gives him a chance to rest. We were doing two Munro’s up in north Scotland. He walked some of the way and when he was tired he went in the bag with ease, he honestly appeared to be so calm and chilled when in the bag it kept him extremely safe while I climbed the tricky bits! He was so comfy and secure, it really is a must for going on adventures with your dog! We were also able to store my water and his in the two pockets on either side. We can't wait to use it on our next adventure!
