The Cathedral is the obvious answer and right behind it is Winchester College. The river Itchen gushes through Winchester. It's rather nice to have a stroll along the river bank. Wolvesey Castle is worth a visit as there are some incredible ruins to explore and the good news is pets are welcome on leads. Outside the cathedral grounds is a square with many shops, cafes and restaurants and you wont look out of place walking around with your pet!
