How to calm and destress my pet?
Use the Pet Remedy natural pet relaxer by spraying on pet bedding, bandana, or even a little on your fingers and gently rub around muzzle, under the chin, and top of chest!
You only need a couple of sprays of the pet remedy drops and this will last between 2 and 6 hours depending on the individual pet.
As a rule, best not to spray directly on a pet. This avoids any association of the spray with the stressful situation. Avoid spraying in the proximity of small mammals and birds as they have small lung capacity. Best to spray a little on a cloth and then place the cloth near them.
When out walking or training an anxious pet, spray a little on a bandana or spray a little on a damp cloth or your fingers and gently rub around the muzzle and top of the chest. The same applies to horses.
Use the eco-friendly calming wipe in the same way as you would with the calming spray by gentle rubbing around the muzzle, under the chin, and top of the chest of your pet (including horses!).
Or you can rub on your fingers before handling an anxious pet.
It can be used to wipe down surfaces such as an examination or grooming bench top.
You can also tie to a cat basket when travelling to the vet or place on bedding at home and in the car!
How to treat pet travel anxiety and relax pet when travelling?
If you have noticed your pet sick when travelling they could be suffering from stress and anxiety. There are many ways to combat this including training/socialisation, taking a safe space with you (such as a cage, backpack or bed) and opting for pet remedies.
Avoid pet calming meds and opt for a natural approach instead.
How does Pet Remedy for pets work?
The actives in the Pet Remedy formulation mimic a natural calming message from the brain called GABA.
Nerve cells in any mammal, bird, and reptile are only ever fired up or calm.
Pet Remedy works with the pet’s own natural calming mechanisms and is formulated using low concentration Valerian absolute oil with small inclusions of Vetiver, Basil, and Clary Sage essential oils.
When stressed or anxious, nerve cells are fired up and this is when the actives in Pet Remedy act by tricking these fired up nerve cells into thinking they are getting a message to calm.
Many valerian preparations are too potent and can sedate (natural pet sedatives) rather than calm. To prevent this from happening Pet Remedy is low concentration and water based.
Can this be used for bonding pets?
For bonding rabbits, spray a little on a damp cloth or fingers and gently rub around muzzles of rabbits. This helps with scent swapping as well as calming, which in turn helps speed up the bonding process. This same procedure can be used for bonding other pets such as dogs, cats, rodents, and horses.
