We are Tash & Jon and we run the Cat Travel account Whiskers On Wheels. We have 3 Cats, Rosie, Tinkerbell and Millie. They are all rescues and have always been indoor Cats as we lived near a busy road. 

Can I Road Trip With a Cat?

A road trip with a cat is not a spur-of-the-moment idea but is possible with some pre-planning months before deciding to travel. For a cat to be ready for road trips they should ideally be trained and socialised for such an event as a kitten. 

How Do You Travel With a Cat?

In 2019, we sold our house to travel full time in our Motorhome with our Cats. Once we knew we wanted to go travelling, we began practicing with harnesses and getting the girls used to the motorhome and then eventually, travelling. There was a lot of repetition and patience involved but the reward was priceless for us. We never wanted to leave the Cats behind as they are our family and we promised them a forever, loving home and that’s exactly what they have - whether its in bricks or on wheels.

Whiskers on Wheels was born out of people messaging our travel account and asking how we successfully got the Cats used to life on the road. We’re passionate about all things Cats and Travel so it seems natural to share our experience and top tips and help Cat owners realise it’s not impossible to combine the two! 

Do Cats Like Living Outside?

Our girls have taken to this lifestyle like absolute champs, they get just as much benefit from it as we do. They get to go outside much more than they ever did in the house and they have seen and experienced so many exciting things. At the end of the day, they still have a snuggly, warm place to sleep and they have made this Motorhome as much theirs as it is ours.
