Time is not infinite, and we must make the best use of what time we have with our pets.
Why Is It Good to Spend Time with Your Pets?
Pets have a shorter amount of time on this planet than us. Quality and time out for both you and your pets is healthy and creates happiness. The outdoors with our pets, fresh air, walking and just looking at nature can lower our blood pressure and reduce stress and most of us need a dose of this.
What is Time?
Time is limited. We often want to fill our time, but we should be thinking about making quality moments out of our time rather than thinking about just filling it. Our lifespan is incredibly short, and our pet’s lifespan is unfortunately far shorter. Did you know on average (assuming you may live until you are 80), you only have about 4,000 weeks to live?
What did you do last week? What are you going to do this week?
We never have enough time; we are always too busy, and we fill our time with tasks. We make sure we are not wasting time by filling it with tick lists. The faster we can complete them the faster we can re-load that list and repeat.
But why? What are we chasing that is so important? The top of the career ladder? The clean house? The most money in the bank? A quick walk to the shop with our pets at the end of the day?
Are we then going to sail off into the sunset with our pets feeling complete? Probably not as you will most certainly outlive them and once your life tick list is complete, they most certainly won’t be there anymore.
Who was the Oldest Pet in the World?
On a more positive note, If we ignore ‘Adwaita the Tortoise’ then according to the Guinness World Records, it was an Australian cattle-dog named Bluey who lived until the ripe old age of 29 years and 5 months (1910 to 1939).
Even Bluey was just 29 years young. The average dog age is 10 – 13 years old and the average cat age is 2 – 16 years old. Every moment with pets and family counts. Make it count.
Why am I Wittering on About Time?
In a world where pandemics are hitting the news, war can happen on the toss of a coin, illness can creep out of the blue, family can be gone on a whim, I think it is important we take time out. Mental health issues and anxiety are through the roof for many.
We are learning more and more the impact of ‘always being switched on’ is hurting us more than ever.
I know you probably have lots of work to do and you didn’t clean the kitchen and you are supposed to go to the gym, but it won’t change. You will always need to do all these things.
The great thing about having a pet is that they will always be glad to have your time and your attention for no other reason but to show you love and of course to feed them treats. They are the perfect reason for you to take time out.
Spending some quality time with them, nature and loved ones is for most people the reason we are all trying to get chores and tick lists done. You don’t need to get them all done to do that, you just need to put down whatever you are holding or doing right now and go have some ‘you time’, some quality time, some down time and pat yourself and your pets on the back for everything you have done up to now.
Looking Out from a Business Perspective
Travfurler was started from my love for travel and my partners love for all animals. Together we both began to love travel, all animals, travelling together and then travelling as family unit including all pets!
As a business we need to sell pet products to you guys for travelling with pets. We need profit, we need to be able to put food on the table (for our pets of course), do a career we both love and slowly expand our business.
Travfurler is not just about selling you the next K9 backpack or EzyDog Lifejacket. It is a lifestyle.
The reality is we just want to travel with our pets, see the world through their eyes, be digital nomads and take them with us everywhere. We want to enable the older man to sit with his dog whilst they paddle in a stream safely. We want to help people such as a recent customer ‘a book author’. She walks with her family through the woods on a weekend and needed to carry her dog when their little, tired legs are worn out (Twitter - @IsabelAshdown). We want a family to be able to lay a blanket down on an evening meal out so their dog can join them and be snug by a pub roaring fire and not just stay at home. We want the stress for you to be gone when your pets get in the back of the car for a long road-trip without pet hair and slobber covering the back of the car afterwards. We want your travels to be stress free and calm with natural products that help anxious dogs and cats.
Most importantly, we want you to spend quality time with your pets and family outdoors.
When we see reviews that show we have achieved even a fraction of this it doesn’t just make me happy, it makes me happy to see my fiancé happy and to know that the business is not just giving to us but is giving that extra bit of help to you. Especially when you decide to take some time out and explore the world together with your pets.
Time and Our Plans with Our Pets
We make infinitely ambitious plans and yet we tend to find barely any time to execute them. There tends to be very little life left at the end just when we are ready to execute all our grand plans. We know it’s hard, we often find ourselves too busy like you, but we must all accept that we cannot just make time at some point. Sometimes things just must be missed and not ticked off the list just so we can have that down time to relax, sit on the grass somewhere and play ball with our pets during a sunset.
Conclusion
Pick up the lead, pack a bag, head outside and take a deep breath ready to walk, run, swim, climb, explore, roll, and embrace the world with your family unit including your pets. Time is short so make it amazing and if we can help you along the way which in turn helps us, even if it is just from you reading our blogs or writing a review then that really does make us happy!
Wherever you go, go with your pet.
Embrace your companion, no matter the adventure.
