We wanted to find a way to share all your stories and honour the pet’s that have kept you going this year also. So we decided to create a feature blog/time capsule which we hope to fill with your real life stories from this year of companionship, unconditional loving, learning and exploring. Somewhere we can all join and one day look back on when this is all over!

Hey Guys! Happy Thursday. Yesterday I mentioned we were going someplace very special to celebrate my first full year at home. We went on a quiet, family pilgrimage to Cross in the Woods National Shrine in Indian River, Michigan. We were fortunate to view the shrine all by ourselves.
This Catholic Shrine has the tallest crucifix in the world at 55 ft tall (the figure of Christ is 28 feet) Fr. Brophy (founding priest) thought of Kateri Tekakwitha when he viewed the site location and surrounding area. She was a 17th century Mowhawk Indian who converted to Catholicism and placed crosses in the woods as shrines. (Since she was not yet a saint, the site could not be named for her)
The Cross is made of timber from Oregon. The bronze figure of Christ was sculpted by Marshall Fredericks, cast in Oslo, Norway and shipped to the United States. It has been visited by millions from around the world.
